Gardai in Donegal have confirmed that a body has been found in Carrowreagh, Bridgend this evening.
Gardai and emergency services are at the scene but as yet no details about the identity of the body have been released.
The area is close to where a jeep belonging to Derry man Stephen McCloskey was found last week. Searches have been ongoing in the area, particularly around Inch.
The 33-year-old has been missing since Monday October 27th.
A post-mortem will be carried out at Letterkenny General Hospital tomorrow morning.
A statement said: “Gardai in Buncrana are investigating the circumstances of the discovery of the body of a male in the River at Bridgend, Co Donegal this afternoon the 9th Nov 2014. A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow morning at the morgue in Letterkenny. The body has not yet been formally identified.”
