BREAKING NEWS - United Airlines flight UA76 from Belfast to USA makes emergency landing at Shannon Airport

A United Airlines flight travelling from Belfast to Newark has been forced into making an emergency landing at Shannon Airport.

The Boeing 757 had to burn off fuel before attempting the landing.

The aircraft touched down at Shannon Airport on Monday afternoon.

The cause of the emergency is not yet known.

Flight UA76 left Belfast International Airport at 11:19am BST and was due to land in Newark at 1:45pm local time.
