Fourteen sets of twins and one set of triplets at St. John’s P.S. in Derry recieved the gift of a car booster seat each from Derry company, BubbleBum.
BubbleBum, the world’s first inflatable car booster seat for kids aged 4-11 years decided to gift each of the twins and triplets with a BubbleBum car booster seat as part of Road Safety Week, 2014, after hearing about the school’s record number of twins and triplets on a local radio show.
BubbleBum founder and CEO, Grainne Kelly, said, when she heard about the number of twins and triplets at St. John’s P.S. she decided she wanted to do something to help out.
“We heard about St. John’s Primary on the local radio and couldn’t believe that this fascinating good news story was right on our doorstep. We decided to gift the twins and triplets with their very own car booster seat, so they can travel safely and their parents can fit three car seats in a row, which can be a challenge when you have more than one child,” said Grainne.
“Road Safety Week is a very important week for BubbleBum as it embodies our company ethos, every child deserves to be protected on every journey,” she added.
St. John’s Primary School Principal, Geraldine O’Connor, said she was “overwhelmed” by the support shown by BubbleBum and she thanked Grainne Kelly for the donation.
“We are delighted to associate St John’s Primary School with the promotion of road safety awareness week and strongly encourage all road users to be mindful of the safety of children at all times whether they are walking or travelling by car/bus.
“I am overwhelmed by the generosity of BubbleBum and thank Grainne most sincerely for gifting our children the booster seats,” she said.
BubbleBum was founded by Grainne Kelly, a mother of two from Derry and has gone on to win numerous awards including Best Bet Booster 2011, 2013, SheKnows Parenting Award and 2013 Family Review Center Best of the Year Award.
