The Mayor of Buncrana James Gill has confirmed the number of ‘hits’ on a promotion website for the town has increased by almost 150% in the last year.

Stating that the importance and value of tourism to the area was now more vital than ever Mayor Gill welcomed the fact that Buncrana Chamber of Commerce and Buncrana Town Council have teamed upto produce a full-colour brochure and map highlighting the Inishowen town’s attractions for visitors during the summer season.

At the recent launch, Chamber Chairman Neil Doherty Roe said: “We’re delighted to be involved again this year. It’s important that visitors have a guide to what the town has to offer and the brochure covers all the local attractions, places to visit and kids activities.

“There’s also a guide to shopping, bars, restaurants and accommodation in the town and a detailed map to help people find all the things that make Buncrana such a great place to visit. Brenda Tierney-Joyce from Ruby Rose Creative has done a great job again with the design work and produced a fantastic brochure.

Councillor Gill, also explained how the website www.visitbuncrana.com helps visitors make the most of their stay. “All local information is available on the website so visitors can see everything that’s happening during their visit.

“The site is updated with the latest information on events such as the Buncrana Music & Arts Festival and lists any current special offers to help people make the most of their visit.

He added: “Promotion works. We have great numbers again this year staying overnightat the campervan park on Railway Road. Working together helps us all.”
