Burt dance for breast cancer research

There will be a fundraising dance in St Mary’s Hall, Burt next Friday, July 6, in aid of Newtowncunningham nurse, Laura Porter who is heading to Philadelphia soon, to take part in a Walk for Breast Cancer Research. Music at the dance will be provided by the Gypsy Rovers, with dancing from 9pm until 12.30 am. Light refreshments will be served. Admission 7 euro and everyone is welcome.

There will be a table quiz in An Grianan Hotel, Burt on Thursday, July 5, at 9.30 pm. Proceeds in aid of Burt ICA. Please come along and lend your support.

Congratulations to Ronan McGrory, Buncrana and Tooban, and Lorena Doherty, Buncrana, and to Caroline Strong, Kilcullen and Lisfannon, and Trevor Howard, Kilcullen, who were married in the Parish Church recently.

Burt Bingo takes place every Tuesday at 9pm in St Mary’s Hall, Burt. One book costs only 7 euro.

The world famous Burt Book Sale returns on Saturday July 14, from 11.00 am until 5.00 pm and Sunday July 15, from 12noon until 5.00 pm, in St Mary’s Hall, Burt. Proceeds are in aid of to Motor Neurone Disease and Respiratory Unit, Letterkenny Hospital.

The Irish Cancer Society says thanks for the euro 311.25 euro raised in the recent Burt Church gate collection.

There is Boxercise in Inch Hall every Monday. Kids boxercise class 5.00 pm to 6pm and adults class 8pm until 9pm. Kids class is for boys and girls, aged 6 to 12 years. Adult class is suitable for all fitness levels and age groups (16+). Contact 0863238437 for more information.

There is a Zumba Class in St Mary’s Hall, Burt, every Thursday, from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. The cost is 5 euro. Everyone is welcome to come along.

The Aileach Youth Club Summer Camp runs from Monday, July 23 until Wednesday July 25, for children aged 4 to 12 years, from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm. The cost is 35 euro per child. Booking and a deposit of 10 euro is essential to secure place. Please return application forms and deposits to Tooban, Bridgend or Muff schools. If your child is not at one of these schools, contact Patricia Doherty 086 7203663 to book a place and arrange collection of deposit.
