Burt’s Big Bingo is returning on Sunday, November 30, in St Mary’s Hall, at 3.00pm. A book/sheet costs 10 euro. An extra sheet costs 2 euro. The prizes will include 200 euro on the ninth house, 25 euro for a line and 50 euro for a house. Extra sheets will be available according to sales. The proceeds are in aid of the second phase of the restoration work on St Aengus’ Church, Burt. Everyone is very welcome.

We offer our sympathy to family and friends of Frances Arbuckle on the death of her brother Willie James McLaughlin, formerly of Drung; to the extended family of Owen Doherty, Buncrana and Canada.s

A big thank you and well done to the young people from the parish who served tea and refreshments and provided entertainment after Mass in St Aengus’, Burt, recently. It was a wonderful occasion, enjoyed by all. It will happen in Fahan and Inch in the New Year.

The North West Simon Community says thanks for its recent collection, which totalled 248 euro in Fahan and 270 euro in Burt, all of which will stay in Donegal.

The Nazareth House Coffee Morning will take place on Friday, December 5, from 10am to 2.30pm. Admission 3 euro. All proceeds are in aid of residents’ comfort fund.

The Grianan of Aileach ICA Christmas Party will take place in St Mary’s Hall, Burt, on Friday, December 5, at 7.30pm. Music will be provided by Leslie Matthews. For transport requests, please phone 9368332 or 0861649092/9156023.

Moville Drama Group will stage the hilarious three act comedy, ‘The Maiden Aunt’ in St Eugene’s Hall, Moville, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 28, 29 and 30 and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, at 8.00pm. Tickets are available from Gillens Supermarket, Lynnots Shop, Moville and Mc Laughlin’s Shop, Greencastle. Any unsold tickets will be available at the door each night.

The letting of Doherty Trust Land, Fahan, and Parish Field, Burt, for a three year term, will take place in the Fowler Hall on Wednesday, December 3, at 12 noon. The Doherty Trust Land is often called the Parish fields. (This does not include the St Vincent de Paul field, which is leased separately by St Vincent de Paul.) A Santa Tractor Run, in aid of Little Angels School, is taking place on Saturday, December 6, leaving Maggie’s Tavern at 10.30am sharp. Refreshments will be served at the half way mark and at the finish! The entry fee is 10 euro. Everyone is very, very welcome.

St Aengus’ School Parents Association is selling Christmas cards designed by the children at the school. Packs of 8 are on sale for 4.99 euro and are available from the school and local shops.

There will be a Clothing Collection in aid of Kenya Africa on Wednesday, December 3, between 9am and 12 midday, in the Parish Church car park and Church of Ireland Church car park.

St Aengus NS is open on Wednesday, December 10, from 10-11am, for new pupils starting in September, 2015.
