1,200 apply for 60 hotel jobs

Premier Inn says it has received more than 1,200 applications for 60 jobs at its new hotel in Derry which is scheduled to open later this year.

The 60 positions are due to come on stream with the opening of the new Premier Inn at Cresent Link in November.

Commenting on the huge demand for the jobs, Cathy Hopkins, cluster general manager for Premier Inn Northern Ireland, said: “We have been blown away by the reaction to our recruitment drive for the new Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre restaurant at Crescent Link... We are very pleased with the quality of the applicants and will work with the Department of Empployment and Learning to review the applications carefully over the coming weeks.”

The 60 bedroom hotel, which will also feature a 200-seater Brewers Fayre family pub restaurant, represents a £6 million investment into the local economy.
