More than 120 people came off the dole in Derry last month but the city remains the north’s unemployment hotspot.
The latest figures from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment show the number of people claiming unemployment related benefits in the Derry City Council area fell by 124 in November.
The total number of people claiming the dole in Derry now stands at 5974 - 8.4% of the city’s working age population.
In Strabane the figures stands at 7.7% while in Limavady it is 6.4%
Across the north the number of people claiming unemployment benefits fell by 1314 in November bringing the total on the dole to 58,805.
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster said that drop was “encouraging.”
