Boots create 31 jobs with opening of new store

Thirty-one new jobs have been created at the Crescent Link Retail Park with the opening of a brand new Boots store at the site of the former World of Furniture store.

The store officially opened on Wednesday and speaking at the opening Mary Woods, Regional Manager for Boots UK, said: “I’m delighted that our investment in the Crescent Link Retail Park has helped to create new jobs within the area. “We are proud to be able to demonstrate our commitment to local communities and to providing the best possible level of service and value for money to our customers and patients.”

Store manager Julie Cushley added: “We are excited to be able to offer our customers a wide range of health and beauty products and healthcare advice in an accessible and convenient location.”

The new 700 square metre health and beauty store will also provide a Boots Opticians as well as a pharmacy that provides over-the-counter medicines and expert healthcare advice from an on-site pharmacist.

However the store will not be able to dispense NHS prescriptions - having not yet secured a licence to do so.

The new store, which complements the longstanding store in the Foyleside shopping centre, also offers a large Christmas gift area with a large range of gifts on 3 for 2 Mix & Match; as well as chilled foods including the Shapers range, the Boots exclusive baby clothing range - mini club and extensive fragrance and electrical beauty areas. Customers can also enjoy a wide selection of Boots’ own brand skincare and cosmetics including No7 and 17.

In addition, the store is also one of several Boots stores across Northern Ireland to have introduced the exclusive Tony Ferguson Weightloss Programme.
