One of the north west’s best known car dealers is to create up to 30 jobs as part of a major expansion.
Victor Pollock, Director at Donnelly and Taggart, says the jobs are being created after the company secured new franchises for Suzuki and Fiat vehicles.
He says the company’s expansion will also see the Toyota showroom and workshop move to a new site in order “to meet demand.”
“We are investing heavily here at the moment and taking on Suzuki and Fiat,” Mr Pollock told the ‘Journal’.
“These will be opening in December/January and the good news is that we will be creating approximately 25 to 30 new jobs.”
The new Toyota showroom, to be located close to the existing Campsie site, will see capacity increase from five to an eight car showroom.
The Toyota workshop will also be expanded to accommodate an eight bay workshop for service.
“We have had Toyota for 11 years and have outgrown the site we are in at the minute, both in terms of service capacity and the sales department,” Mr Pollock says.
Despite the “challenging times” economically, Mr Pollock says Donnelly and Taggart have always maintained an optimistic ethos and approach to business.
“The market is starting to come back. Next year, it is our hope that people will have the confidence to start spending again, we can see that is starting to happen,” he says.
“We are always very positive here, people have always seen us as positive thinkers, as looking to the future.”
Mr Pollock says the efforts of staff have been integral to the company’s continued success.
“We have always kept investing in our employees, in their training, and tried to look after them through the challenging times. We have always been very appreciative of what they have given us.”
Donnelly and Taggart employs 135 staff at its Campsie site.
