“I really enjoyed the programme which has given me a lot more confidence and improved my communication skills. I think it will really bolster my performance in interviews and will definitely help me to get a job,” she said.

The programme is being rolled out by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) in partnership with Sector Skills Council, People 1st, and the Department for Employment (DEL) and Learning. It’s designed to help businesses gain a competitive edge and to position the north as a world-class tourist destination.

This is all part of the legacy of our culture year and will stand participants in good stead for the future advancing their employability.”

Carolyn Boyd from NITB said the programme has “raised the bar across the tourism and hospitality sector.”
