Derry still tops north’s dole figures

The number of people claiming unemployment related benefits fell in Derry last month - but the city remains the north’s dole capital.

New figures released by Stormont this morning show that last month the number of people out of work in Derry fell by 38.

A total of 6189, or 8.7% of the workforce are currently claiming unemplOyment related benfits in Derry.

In Strabane the figure stands at 7.5% and in Limavady 7.1%
