Employers’ Clinic for Magilligan

Roe Valley Education Forum, in partnership with Limavady’s Jobs and Benefits Office and Limavady Borough Council, has arranged a second free ‘employers clinic’ to explain how products and services offered by the Department of Employment and Learning can help grow their business.

The Employers’ Clinic will be held in Magilligan Community Centre, Magilligan, on Thursday 5th July at 7:30pm.

The local business community including farmers, retailers, publicans and tourism accommodation providers, are encouraged to attend and get an insight into the diverse range of the Department of Employment and Learning’s initiatives, including its recruitment service and the Steps to Work Programme, which includes subsidised graduate opportunities and financial assistance through the employer subsidy.

Benefits

Highlighting the benefits to local businesses, Ursula Martin for the Department for Employment and Learning said: “The Employer’s Clinic provides local businesses with a great opportunity to find out more about the range of programmes and services the Department provides”

Diane Rathfield, General Manager from Roe Valley Education Forum, said: “We’re very keen to promote to all businesses in the Magilligan area, the extensive employability services delivered by Roe Valley Education Forum and the Department for Employment and Learning.

“During the event, businesses can find out about the ‘Steps to Work’ programme which offers free 8 and 26 week work placements, and DEL’s Employer Subsidy of up to £75 per week for six months.

“In the current economic downturn, it is vital that businesses who want to survive and grow, avail of the assistance on offer.

Support from local businesses in turn will help create employment opportunities for local jobseekers.”

Limavady Mayor, Cathal Mclaughlin, said: “During the ‘informal’ event, businesses from all sectors, can find out about the full range of employability initiatives and subsidies available to them through Roe Valley Education Forum and Limavady Jobs & Benefits Office.”

Employers are asked to register by 3rd July as places are limited, by telephoning Ursula Martin on 777 60579. Some refreshments will be provided.
