A best-selling book by retired Bishop of Derry Dr Edward Daly is to be released as an ‘eBook’.

‘Mister, are you a priest?’ will be available in digital format from Monday, August 19.

The book - first released in 2000 - looks at Edward Daly’s time as a curate in Derry during some of the most turbulent and dramatic years of the Troubles.

Anthony Tierney, marketing manager at Four Courts Press - the publishers of the book - says its new eBook range is a “thrilling venture” for them.

“Bishop Daly’s book was hugely successful for us in hardcopy and we are delighted to announce that this book will herald our first step into this exciting and vibrant market for our books,” he said.

Mr. Tierney says he hopes Bishop Daly’s second volume of memoirs, ‘A Troubled See’, will also be available as an eBook soon.

Dr. Daly says he’s delighted his book is coming out in digital format.

“It’ll certainly be interesting to see how it does,” he said. “It’s a completely new experience for me but one that seems to be very popular with a lot of people. There definitely appears to be a market out there for this format of book.”

The new eBook will be accessible on a variety of devices and will be available to purchase via www.fourcourtspress.ie priced £6.95.
