The average Housing Executive property sold off in Derry over the past 12 months went for a bargain £26,700.
The Housing Executive (HE) has revealed that 51 properties in the city were sold off during 2014 under the Right To Buy scheme.
The average home was valued at £45,200, but when length of tenancy discounts and other factors were brought into play, this was knocked down to less that £27,000.
While presenting an ‘Overview Of Housing’ in the city to Derry City Council’s Regional Services Committee on Tuesday, HE Area Manager West Avril McAllister said that to date a total of 8,191 homes have been sold under the Right To Buy scheme.
