Local businesses will have the unique opportunity to learn from the team behind a new study of leadership and followership based on the experiences of the crews of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
The business event which takes place on June 25 is a highlight of the LegenDerry Maritime Festival which will welcome tens of thousands to the city from June 21-29, and also the crews of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race who will enjoy a stopover visit to the city.
Clipper Race Learning and Development partner Mission Performance has been following the crews and collating their experiences as they perform in some of the most extreme environments in the world.
They will use their findings to develop a series of training modules for business leaders and teams. These modules will be made available to local businesses through an open programme format, details of which will be shared with delegates on the day.
This special leadership event is organised by Derry City Council’s Business Opportunities Team and funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund through the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.
Led by Mission Performance director Rob Lewis, Jamil Qureshi, Christiaan McLeod and Matt Burgess, the event offers local businesses the chance to put their questions to the experienced team. Rob and Christiaan are co-founders of the company and between them have over 30 years of leadership and facilitation experience with a wide variety of international organisations.
Jamil Qureshi is one of today’s foremost practitioners of performance enhancing psychology and is an expert in high performing teams. While colleague Matt Burgess has been working as a communication coach and corporate trainer for over 15 years. To find out more about Mission Performance go to www.missionperformance.com.
