Legenderry road train scoops tourism award

The already famous LegenDerry Train beat off stiff competition to pick up a Northern Ireland Tourism award at a prestigious ceremonyattended by more than 300 people at Belfast’s Grand Opera House last weekend.

Roadtrain Tours was nominated and selected in the Northern Ireland Best New Tourism Product category and now sits alongside a number of world-class tourism winners including the Giant’s Causeway Visitors’ Centre, Stena Line Ferries and the iconic Lyric Theatre which also picked up an award at the annual event.

Mayor Alderman Maurice Devenney, speaking after the award announcement congratulated entrepreneur John Murphy, proprietor of LegenDerry Road Train saying: “This is a fantastic achievement for John and his team, and we are tremendously proud of the LegenDerry Road Train as an additional visitor service in the city. It is great to see the idea that John had, teamed with innovation, hard work, dedication and a vision to where he is now, being recognised, and on behalf of Derry City Council we will continue to offer our support to our bustling and growing tourism sector and ambassadors.”
