With nearly all of the sponsors confirmed for the 2011 Roe Valley Business Awards, and the gala event planned for November, local entrepreneurs are getting their tuxedos and ball gowns ready in anticipation of another night at the borough’s business Oscars.
Awards organiser, Marc McGerty from Accelerate Business Support Agency said, “We have nearly all of the category sponsors secured for this year’s Business Awards initiative. However, we still need to secure a couple of principal sponsors to headline the initiative.
“We are delighted that we have been able to secure sponsorship and support from many local businesses, and without this very local support the awards wouldn’t be happening.”
Local businesses Expert Recruitment and Nolka Design were amongst the first to pledge their support for the awards.
This is the first year that website and graphic designers Patricia and Kevin Greene from Nolka Design have been involved in the awards initiative, and they are very encouraged by feedback from last year’s participants.
Patricia said, “It’s great to see the Roe Valley Business Awards returning in 2011, and when we heard that sponsors for 2011 were being sought we very quickly came to a decision to get involved.”
“Whilst this is our first involvement in the Roe Valley Business Awards we have been involved in a number of other business awards initiatives, and we believe that these help to create a buzz in the local business community, and during these touch times good news is in short supply and is very welcome.”
In 2010 Expert Recruitment won the award for Marketing Excellence, and they believe that the Business Awards gave the local business community a great boost.
Kevin Mullan from Expert Recruitment said, “The Business Awards initiative in 2010 was exactly what the local economy needed.
“It helped to excite and stimulate the business community, and it also helped local entrepreneurs to look at what ways they could improve their business. It recognised the hard work and long hours involved, and the invaluable role the business community plays in the prosperity of the borough.”
Abby Mullan added, “The Business Awards initiative is a great opportunity for local businesses to get to know one another, to network together and to hopefully work together.
“At last year’s gala event it was amazing how many businesses from the borough didn’t know one other, and if it wasn’t for initiatives like the Business Awards these local collaborations wouldn’t be happening.
