Murray calls for Inishowen to join ‘HIREland’

Inishowen Sinn Féin councillor Jack Murray has encouraged local businesses to sign up to the Hireland campaign, saying that the initiative can help kick-start job creation in Donegal.

Cllr Murray said:“Hireland is an initiative, created by ordinary people who decided that, in the absence of a government led job creation strategy, the time had come to take action and kick-start jobs growth in Ireland.

“Almost 1800 jobs have been pledged on the Hireland website to date.

“The campaign aims to mobilise a spirit of willingness amongst the small business community to help get thousands of skilled workers back into employment in 2012. They are asking Irish businesses to think differently - and to pledge a short or long term job now.

“I would encourage businesses in Inishowen to take collective action, think differently and join the campaign.

“This initiative is good for the community at large and can help get our job numbers growing again. Even in a small but meaningful way, this can help get us out of the negative cycle of unemployment and emigration that is devastating families in Inishowen.
