Northern Ireland sport retailer, Sports Direct is creating 30 new jobs with the opening of its new store in Derry this week.
The company says it has made a significant investment in the new store which will be located in the Richmond Centre.
Customers will be able to get their hands on many of the leading sporting brands and avail of some great opening day offers when the doors open on Thursday morning.
This latest outlet brings the company’s headcount in Northern Ireland to 300 employees across 15 stores.
A spokesperson for Sports Direct said: “We are delighted to be opening our 15th store in the City of Culture and with the level of interest which has been shown in our brand following our recent recruitment campaign. This new store opening reinforces our commitment to developing the Sports Direct brand in Northern Ireland and will be a strong addition to the popular Richmond Centre.”
Richmond Centre Manager, Bobby Nicholson added: “The opening of Sports Direct will give a huge boost to the Richmond Centre, which already sees 126,000 weekly customers. The centre is a hive of activity right now and Sports Direct is a welcomed addition to our well-balanced mix of shops which are chosen to give customers what they want.”
