New Unite building opens today

The Unite Union General Secretary Len McCluskey will be in Derry later today to attend the official opening of the union’s new offices on Carlisle Road.

The new Unite offices, on the site of the old T&GWU building will be opened at 1pm today.

Afterwards Mr McCluskey will will meet with Unite representatives and activists in Derry.

A former dock worker, Len McCluskey has been a trade unionist since 1968 and was elected to the position of general secretary of Unite in 2010.

He was expected to meet with the First Minister and Deputy First Minister yesterday at Stormont.
