O’Kane’s SuperValu Dungiven has been named as a finalist in Musgrave Retail Partners’ prestigious ‘Store of the Year’ awards on March 7 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle.
The Garvagh Road store, owned by Ciaran O’Kane, will be competing against five other finalists for SuperValu’s Store of the Year award sponsored by Coca Cola Hellenic.
Musgrave Retail Partners organises the Gala Ball event each year for its 250 independent retailers in Northern Ireland across the SuperValu, Centra and Mace brands.
Finalists are selected using an independent audit of all stores, with each facing a rigorous process of checks and evaluations.
Six finalists in each retail brand go head to head on the night with the chance to be crowned Gold, Silver or Bronze winner in each of their categories before competing for the coveted title of ‘Store of the Year’. One store which opened before October last year will take home a ‘Newcomer’ prize.
Musgrave Retail Partners SuperValu Sales Director, Nigel Maxwell said: “Congratulations to Ciaran, manager Alistair and all the staff at SuperValu Dungiven. The store has achieved finalist status yet again due to its excellent customer service, sales growth and strong local marketing and merchandising standards. It is great to see this team recognised and I wish them good luck on the night.”
