Applications for hundreds of new jobs with a US internet firm setting up in Derry have topped the 900 mark, the ‘Journal’ can reveal.

OneSource Virtual, which specialises in human resources, and has its headquarters in Dallas, Texas, is to create 289 jobs in the city.

Its Derry operation is to open in September and all 289 jobs are to be in place by the end of December 2017.

The roles include payroll and benefits administration and application management services.

Most employees will have the potential to earn about £26,000 a year.

Grafton Recruitment - which recently launched the recruitment campaign to fill the jobs - confirmed yesterday that, to date, there has been 920 applications.

It’s understood the first job offers will be out by the end of July with recruitment continuing until 2018.

Recruitment activity continues with the team out in Letterkenny last week promoting the roles.
