Poundstretcher has announced it is launching a new delivery service to Derry as it has been unable to find temporary premises to trade in.

The retailer has been absent from the city since a fire gutted its premises on Bishop Street last July.

Efforts haver made to try and find a suitable temporary replacement since then, while staff have been relocated to other stores. The company took to Facebook to confirm that it was “still working hard and trying our best to locate a suitable site within the city”.

The company added: “We have taken feedback from some of our customers and we are going to trial a delivery service to Derry in order for our customers to continue to get great deals. This will be run from our Omagh store.”

Items being purchased for delivery must be of a minimal value of £20.
