A Derry firm have been shortlisted for a prestigious top fashion award in London in February.
Chocolate Clothing run by local man David Conaghan on Foyle Street has made it to the final stages of the Drapers UK’s Inspiring Independents 2012 Awards
Drapers is the top UK Fashion trade magazine holding awards annually to celebrate the most inspiring independently owned clothing stores.
The winners will be announced at a gala event is being held in a London hotel in February 2012.
Recently David reached the final of the NI Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition and emerged as a runner-up.
David started Foyle Street-based Chocolate Clothing with his older brother Barry in 2007 and in the last four years it has gone from strength to strength and now stocks some of the most sought-after clothing brands around.
Earlier this year David was approached to apply for the Northern Ireland Young Entrepreneurship awards. Over 140 people put their names forward but David made it into the final eight. “I was really pleased that I reached the final eight. I was up against some great business talent from all sectors right across Northern Ireland. It was our company’s contribution to online fashion retailing and exporting that really impressed the judges.”
