Urgent meeting needed over ex-army base - Dallat

SDLP East Derry MLA John Dallat is to request a meeting with the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment Arlene Foster on the former Shackelton army camp in Ballykelly. He had asked the Minister “whether she has had any correspondence with her Executive colleagues” regarding the Ballykelly site, and if so, to detail this correspondence; and what steps she intends to take to produce a master plan for the development of this site”.

The reply was: “I have not had any correspondence with Executive Ministers on this issue.”

“This response does not show any indication of the energy, enthusiasm or dynamism. I intend to ask for a meeting with Mrs Foster to see what role she has for me and the other assembly members for the constituency who have a right and a role to play in making East Derry as better place for everyone,” he said.
