Wi-Fi upgrade on trains and buses '˜a significant investment'

Sinn Féin councillor Colly Kelly has welcomed an investment of £400,000 on its Wi-Fi services on local trains and buses.

Train carriages are currently being fitted with additional SIM cards and bandwidth is being improved.

Councillor Kelly said: “I welcome the news that Translink are making a significant investment in its wi -fi service on the Goldline buses, the Dublin-Belfast Enterprise and the entire North’s Railways fleet.

“This upgrade will help the speed of access and reliability of the wi-fi service and allow passengers to be able to download more data and connections are lasting longer.

“It’s important that investment like this takes place as we are always trying to encourage more people to use public transport and knowing that they can carry out their work, study or just having Internet access during their journey is a big bonus.”
