Women in Enterprise is to host a gala networking event in Derry tomorrow.

Entitled ‘International Business Locally - Connections for Business’, the event is to take place in the Whitehorse Hotel and women in business are invited to attend.

Keynote speaker at the event will be international businesswoman Karen Duncan from Derry-based company Bang on the Door. Bang on the door is well known for the iconic Groovy Chick character and noted for its original use of design, character creation and innovative approach to licensing. They have built a highly successful character and licensing programme in markets such as the UK, Belgium, Holland, Korea and Brazil. Bang on the Door has a large resource of artwork and design concepts and has also introduced a tailor made programme where they support licensees with bespoke development.

Dorothy McElwee from CMI is inviting women in business to join her at the annual event.

“Karen will share with us her journey of how she turned a passion for art into an international business success,” she said.

Julie Pollock, Chairperson from Women In Enterprise added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to network and hear from an inspiring business woman who has grown her business internationally.”

The event will also provide the opportunity for businesses to take exhibition stands to promote their business or service, although spaces are limited.

The evening will consist of a sparkling wine reception followed by the guest speaker, then dinner and to finish off with some music from a local singer with ample opportunity to network and peruse the exhibitors stands at your leisure.

The event costs £30 for a display stand plus dinner or £20 for dinner only. Please register for this event by e-mailing registerwie@gmail.com, or for further information check out our website at www.womeninenterprise.org.
