The third Colgan Heritage Weekend takes place in the Colgan Community and Resource Centre, Carndonagh, this weekend beginning with the official opening by journalist John Waters this evening.

Events over the weekend inclcude a Historical Walk, a lecture by Professor Paul Mc Kevitt - Digital Storytelling meets Creative Technologies-, Concert -”Grand Finale of the Musicals”-, Street Market in Diamond with Live Music tomorrow including a performance by the Inishowen Carnival Group, an exhibition of Local Folklore from 1937 collection and an exhibition of School Children’s Competition Work and presentation of prizes. There will also be a media workshop on Sunday from 12 noon to 2pm for anyone interested in oral recordings and interview skills techniques Contact Jeanette at 074 93 29377 for more information or leave your name on the list in the library. Inishowen Carnival Group Parade invite you to join in the fun and frolics of tomorrow’s carnival parade. People of all ages-children to adults- are encouraged to participate. Just turn up at the Carnival offices beside Jay Bees Factory shop at 3pm tomorrow to be fitted with costume and have your face painted. The Good Morning Service County Donegal has launched a new project, the ‘Friendly Face Befriending Scheme’, covering the Inishowen care area. It aims to offer support and social contact to people over 60 in Inishowen who are living alone and who are not participating for whatever reason in everyday community activities. If you have a few hours to spare each week we would be very happy to hear from you. Blood Transfusion service in coming to Carndonagh Community School on 11th July  from 3pm-5pm and 7pm - 9.30pm. and on 12th July from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9.30pm. Your blood could save lives.

Pilates classes in the Colgan Hall every Tuesday from 7-8pm, fully qualified instructor.

The hall can be booked by community groups who have their own insurance. Tanya McDaid completed the Extreme North Marathon and raised a total of 4016.14 euro which will be split between The Funny Feet Fund and Drumfries N.S.
