The Dungiven Library Public Art Committee invite visual artists working in all genres to submit proposals for a permanent outdoor artwork to be located externally to the Dungiven Public Library, Main Street, Dungiven, County Derry.
The Dungiven area has a wealth of folklore and legends and it is envisaged that the commissioned work will reflect this strong local cultural heritage, demonstrating timelessness, artistic excellence, quality and being sympathetic to the local environment.
Completion of the project will also involve community engagement through the facilitation of local creative arts activities.
The commission will be assessed in a two stage process. Stage 1 requires an outline concept proposal and Stage 2 will involve detailed submission and liaison with shortlisted artists. The total budget for the development, creation and installation of the awarded commission is £36,600. This includes costs for community residency workshops facilitation and materials, commissioning fee and production/presentation costs.
For full details, please contact The Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, 24 Main Street, Limavady BT49 OFJ or email email@example.com Deadline for submission is 5pm on FRIDAY 27 JANUARY 2012.
. This project is funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland National Lottery Public Art Programme, The Honourable The Irish Society and supported by Libraries NI and Limavady Borough Council.
