City Centre Initiative has launched their Christmas Window Competition for 2014.
Following the lights switch on, the Christmas festivities are well underway and the city centre is beautifully lit; shoppers will also notice how local retailers have made their shop windows extra special by adding festive lights and decorations in an effort to add some Christmas sparkle to their customers’ shopping experience.
Fergal Rafferty, Foyleside Manager highlighted the importance of visual merchandising stating that not only does impressive window displays attract customers but they help to create a Christmas atmosphere.
“Christmas window displays play a key role for the vast majority of retailers, large and small.
“Each year the quality, the brightness and the attention given to detail keeps getting better and better.
“The shop window competition arranged by CCI gives the opportunity for the ‘unsung heroes’ of the retail industry i.e. the visual merchandisers to achieve some well earned recognition”
Jim Roddy, City Centre Manager said: “Many City Centre businesses have made an extra effort in helping dress the city for Christmas – this competition recognizes their contribution and hard work to make the City Centre festive and welcoming.”
