A Ceili Mor and Old Time dance will be held in the Illies Hall on Friday 17th August with music by Martin Duggan. Dancing 9pm to 12pm. Admission 5 euro.

Buncrana Community Garden will be holding an Open Day on 30th August at the Buncrana Community Hospital. All welcome.

A Mass will be held in St. Aengus’ Church, Burt for motorcyclists on Sunday, 26th August at 1pm. to pray for all who have fallen in the last year and to ask God’s blessing in the year ahead. All welcome. The Mass will be followed by a short fundraising run to Ned’s Point R.N.L.I. Station.

Ann’s Boxercise and Fitness Classes are organising a Sponsored Walk from Derry to Buncrana this Sunday 12th August at 1pm. The walk will be in aid of 3 charities: Foyle/Donegal Hospice Support Group, GROW, (Community Mental Health Movement) and St. Joseph’s Boxing Club, Derry. Last year this group did their first Derry to Buncrana walk and there was over 100 walkers and over 7436 euro was raised for 3 different charities. The group is hoping for the same of more walkers this year. To date there is 110 people signed up for the walk, but with 2 weeks to the walk they are hoping for more participants’. The Inishowen Rugby Football Club is holding a Fun Day for all the family on Sunday, 19th August from 2 – 5.30 pm at the playing field behind Carndonagh Community School. Activities include tag rugby, bouncy castles, face painting, golf putting, sponge throwing, a variety of races, rugby penalty kicking, etc, etc..Barbeque, sweets and drinks also available. Admission 2 euro and all activities free. Sure to be a great fun day out.The Club’s Summer Camp is on from the 14th-17th August. Price is 40 euro for first child and 25 eurofor each additional child. The Annual Brian Glackin Memorial Cup will be played at the pitch at Gortnamullan, Malin Head, tomorrow at 5pm. Presentation and BBQ will follow in Doherty’s Bar, Umgal at 9.30pm.

The Inishowen Country Market will be held tomorrow and Saturday, 25th August from 2 – 3 p.m. in the Church Hall, Church Street. There will be a wide variety of home produce and crafts. All welcome.

The sailing school at Fahan has started again this year in Fahan Cree. Recently recognised as an Irish Sailing Association Training Centre there are five day sailing courses for beginners, or improvers, adults and young people each week until 24th August.
