A night of music is being held in memory of Martin McGuigan at the Delacroix, Buncrana Road, tonight, Friday 17th October.
Hosted by Martin’s wife Monica, family and close friends, who wanted to pay tribute both to his musical talents and his generosity, there will be music by Abbacus, as well as a raffle and small auction.
Speaking about the night, Monica said, “Martin was known by many as a butcher who worked in Meenan Square but he was also a very talented musician, having had a great love for music since he listened to his uncle Charlie (Chuck) McGuigan, who had left Derry in the 1960’s to follow his dreams in America. It will be a night to remember, with local bands and musicians providing the entertainment. All proceeds from the event will be donated to St Vincent De Paul, Creggan, a charity long supported by Martin’s father, Paddy and still assisted by his mother Maureen.”
Entry is £5, payable at the door.
