Translink has begun running Christmas Daytours to Derry after teaming up with the city’s tourist body.

The unique partnership with Visit Derry is resulting in busloads of shoppers heading west from Belfast to take in a tour of Derry or shop till they drop.

Translink have said that “the city offers shoppers a shopping experience that fuses the past to a vibrant present”, adding:

“Renowned as the ‘friendliest region in NI’ you will be assured of a warm Legenderry welcome.”

The Saturday excursions include luxury coach travel, a personal welcome by the Visit Derry team on arrival and complimentary tea/coffee and scones at O’Briens Cafè in Foyleside Shopping Centre. A walking tour of the city, provided by Martin McCrossan City Tours, is included in the price, and 20% off Nando’s and orientation advice for shopping.
