City Walls transformed into dreamworld this Halloween

Derry’s Walls have been given an otherworldly make-over in time for the Halloween celebrations this weekend.

Thousands of people attended the opening night of the Awakening of the Walls- Citadel of Dreams on Thursday evening.

The production- which will be repeated on Halloween night and on Saturday night- is being staged by celebrated landscape theatre company LUXe, the team behind last year’s impressive Inferno at Ebrington Square.

A theatrical dreamworld of light, fire, sculpture, and circus antics has been created for the event, which is free to attend.

The continuous performance around the upper half of the Walls takes around 30 minutes to complete and starts at the gates of St Columb’s Cathedral on London Street.

It will run from 5.30pm to 7pm tonight (halloween) and from 6.30pm to 8.30pm tomororw (Saturday).
