A major search is underway in Strabane this evening after a report that a man has gone missing in a water-filled disused quarry.
Police have confirmed that the local Coastguard is at the scene of the alert in the Strahans Road/Backtown area of the town assisting with their efforts to locate the man.
Emergency services were alerted shortly before 6.30pm after a report that a man was in distress and had gone under the water.
A police spokesperson said that three men who had been in the water in an inflatable had been accounted for.
The area in question is popular with youths during hot weather, although there have been warnings about the dangers of entering the site.
