As part of International Woman’s Day celebrations the Triax Domestic Violence Sub-group in partnership with the City Hotel will be hosting a coffee morning in the City Hotel this morning, March 8, at 11am.
The coffee morning will endeavour to raise some much needed funds for Foyle Women’s Aid but its key aim is to publicise the Women’s Aid 24 hour Domestic Violence Helpline.
Catherine Pollock of Triax Neighbourhood Management Team said “The helpline is open to anyone affected by domestic violence. This includes victims, concerned friends and relatives or anyone looking for some advice. It is important that people know there is someone to talk to at any time of the day or night if they need to.”
The 24 hour number is 0800 917 1414. Foyle Women’s Aid also offers a number of services to women and children affected by domestic abuse.
Information is available at www.foylewomensaid.org.
Representatives from Foyle Women’s Aid will be at the coffee morning and there will be information available for people to take with them to their own communities and networks.
Thanks go to the City Hotel for supporting this important event.
