Organisers of the North West Countryside Festival at Shackleton Park, Ballykelly on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August 2014 will be supporting the NI Children’s Hospice.
During the two day event an inaugural “Welly Boot Challenge” will raise vital funds for the charity.
Event organiser Bill Beckett said: “We are delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause at our Ballykelly event. NI Children’s Hospice delivers such a unique and sought after service in the North West area.
“We had no hesitation in selecting them as our charity of choice. We have devised a fun challenge with great prizes in the form of the “Welly Boot Challenge”. There are three categories open to men, women and children with top prizes for winners on both days. All proceeds from the challenge and other selected competitions will go to the NI Children’s Hospice.
Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice Community Fundraiser Catherine O’Hara said: “On behalf of everyone at the Children’s Hospice I would like to sincerely thank Bill Beckett and the Festival organisers for selecting our charity.
“The events on offer are a fun way to raise awareness and funds and hope the weather can play its part to deliver a wonderful event for all concerned.
“We simply could not provide the service we do both at the Hospice and in the homes of our life-limited children and young people in the North West area without the support and generosity of our local community.”
