Have you got what it takes to ‘Rock the Boat’ and break a world record

Local people have been asked to sign up to take part in the Rock the Boat world record attempt on Saturday, March 29.

The aim is to beat the current record of 1,700 people set in Carrick on Shannon.

To register please go to Cafe Soul on Saturday between 12 and 4 pm. You can also register outside Iceland and outside MacDonalds between 12 and 4 pm.

The entry fee is £5.

All money raised on the day will be donated to the Foyle Hospice.

It is advised that you register before the event, however you can also register on the day outside the Foyle Hospice Shop on Waterloo Place from 10 am.

On the day there will be a warm up event at 1 pm and the record attempt will take place at 2 pm.

There will be a number of events happening in the coming weeks to publicise the event so keep an eye out for updates in the Derry Journal.

You can also go on to facebook and ‘like’ the Rock the Boat facebook page which already has almost 300 members.

It doesn’t matter how old or young you are.

Everyone is welcome to come along on the day and take part.
