Comunity Park fire causes anger

The community in Muff is outraged at an arson attempt at the local Community Park. The perpetrators used plastic materials in an effortto set alight a timber shelter, which serves as a centrepiece in the children’s playground, Luckily the timber failed to ignite, but was scorch damaged. The playground, which opened in July 2013, is popular with locals and visitors alike. It has been the focusof minor damage in the past, but this incident is the most serious to date and had the potential to cause thousands of euros worth of damage. The management committee of Muff Community Development, which runs the park, is asking people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area to the Garda.
