The Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre / Ionad Ealaíon agus Cultúir Ghleann na Ró, Limavady celebrates May with two new art exhibitions for all to enjoy from Friday, 18 May to Saturday, 16 June.
Abstracted Memories features the work of two artists, Norah Brennan and Claudia Keegan. Hailing from Claremorris, County Mayo and Galway respectively, both artists are exhibiting a range of vibrant, engaging original prints.
“Despite being recent graduates of Fine Art, the artists have already exhibited in numerous shows throughout Ireland, including Galway Arts centre, RDS Dublin and the Limerick Printmakers International Exhibition,” said a spokesperson.
“In honour of the forthcoming Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival, a selection of local artists were invited to participate in a Group Show. The resulting exhibition by David Blair, Michael Doherty, Stephen Feeney and Pat Irwin presents a range of diverse contemporary art.
“A self-taught artist, Pat captures the landscape of Limavady and the North West Coast in oils and has exhibited widely. Michael works mainly in pastels, focusing on scenes of the Roe Valley. David experiments with pop art influences, often resulting in portraits of cultural icons, whilst Stephen’s work is mostly figurative.
“So please come along to the preview evening for both exhibitions on Thursday, 17 May, from 7pm - 8.30pm. Coinciding with the launch event for this year’s Limavady Jazz & Blues Festival extravaganza, happening from 7-10 June, great live music is guaranteed.”
Both exhibitions continue to 16 June and admission to galleries is free. For further information, visit www.roevalleyarts.com
