Council searches for new Town Clerk and Chief

Derry City Council has launched a search for a new Town Clerk and CEO.

The local authority this week published advertisements seeking invitations for the £100,000- £107,500 per year post.

The council states that it is seeking to appoint a person “to lead the organisation during a period of significant change and opportunity”.

It adds: “The successful candidate will have drive, innovation leadership, vision and skills to manage an organisation that employs over 650 people, has an annual budget of £36m and which provides a range of essential services to a population of some 110,000 people living in the district.” Meanwhile, former Town Clerk Valerie Watts this week took up the post of CEO at Aberdeen City Council.
