The 15-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, is further charged with behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace on August 13.

Derry Magistrate’s Court heard allegations that the teen told an officer who was gathering video evidence during the parade to ‘go on up the street’.

Police moved the teen as band members entered and he told the officers ‘I did f*** all’.

He allegedly shouted towards parade marshals ‘go on actually fight me’ and ‘come on you f****** halfwit’.

The teen was detained and allegedly continued to shout towards the crowd.

During police interview, the boy made full admissions and said he didn’t like loyalist bandsmen or the police.

The boy was initially released on police bail but failed to abide by a curfew.

District Judge Barney McElholm said the teen was ‘out causing trouble at a parade. There is no justification for that. This city doesn’t have trouble at parades because people talk to each other, respect each other’s viewpoint and get on with things. We don’t need people out starting trouble’.

He released the boy on bail with a number of conditions and banned him from going within 200 metres of a loyal parade.
