A 56-year-old man has appeared in court accused of raping his partner.
The man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged injured party, faces two charges of rape.
The offences relate to an alleged incident on September 4 and 5, last year.
A prosecutor told Derry Magistrates Court the alleged injured party is a ‘vulnerable witness’ who was in a relationship with the defendant.
An investigating officer said he believed he could connect the 47-year-old to the charges.
The man was released on bail and banned from having any contact with the alleged injured party and from entering the street where she lives.
He will appear in court again on June 12.
