Derry Crown Court Judge Philip Babington told the 18-year-old not to be ‘under no illusions’ as to what will happen on the next occasion.

The judge said they were ‘serious charges’ and in his opinion the custody threshold had been crossed.

McDaid was released on continuing bail and will be sentenced on September 30.
