Admitted Galliagh crime spree charges

A 24-year-old man has admitted his part in a crime spree in Galliagh.

Christopher O’Reilly, of Bracken Park, had initially denied a number of charges relating to incidents on November 18, 2014.

However, he applied to be re-arraigned and pleaded guilty to possessing a baseball bat and a curved blade, making a threat to kill and common assault.

Two co-accused had already admitted over 30 charges relating to the incidents on the same date.

Defence QC Neil Rafferty told Derry Crown Court ‘there is a significant distinction’ between O’Reilly and his co-accused.

Judge Philip Babington accepted the 24-year-old is the ‘least involved’.

Sentencing was adjourned and O’Reilly was released on bail until June 30.
