Charged with wounding

A 41-year-old man has appeared in court accused of wounding.

Patrick Pearse Deery, of Winchester Park, is charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The charge relates to an alleged incident on April 4, last year.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates’ Court he believed he could connect Deery to the charge.

The defendant was released on continuing bail and banned from having any contact with the complainant.

He will appear in court again on June 22.
