Five men accused of causing GBH and affray

Five men are to stand trial at Derry Crown Court accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The defendants are 22-year-old Ciaran Fisher, with an address in Portstewart, 25-year-old Gavin Fisher, whose address was given as c/o Maghaberry, 24-year-old Mark O’Kane, of Creggmount, Claudy, 30-year-old Kevin O’Kane, of Fanad Drive and 27-year-old Stephen O’Kane, of Antrim Road, Belfast.

They are jointly charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray.

The charges relate to an alleged incident on June 28, last year.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott accepted there was a case for the five men to answer.

Kevin O’Kane, Ciaran Fisher and Gavin Fisher were remanded in custody and Mark and Stephen O’Kane were released on continuing bail.

They will appear at the Crown Court on May 17.
