A student who was drink driving crashed into a telegraph pole, a court has heard.
Caitlin O’Hare, of Braefield Claudy, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and failing to remain on June 15, last year.
Derry Magistrates Court heard the teenager was involved in a collision with the telegraph pole on the Glenshane Road, which landed 40 metres away, and she left the scene. O’Hare was over the legal drink drive limit at the time.
District Judge Barney McElholm disqualified O’Hare from driving for 12 months and fined her £300.
