£240k worth of drugs seized in Derry

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch arrested two men and seized approximately £240,000 worth of suspected drugs in Derry yesterday evening.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: “Two men aged 30 and 28 were both arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply following the find of approximately £240,000 worth of suspected cannabis in a car in the Victoria Road area of Derry.”

It’s understood the car which was searched in Derry, had been involved in an collision with a police vehicle at approximately 6.25pm on the Victoria Road. No-one was seriously injured and the road reopened shortly after 8pm.

A police spokesperson said this morning that both of the men arrested in Derry “remain in custody and are helping police with their enquiries,”
